At Lumière d'EncreWe see mediation in contemporary art as much more than a simple teaching tool: it is an essential lever for sharing, emancipation and social cohesion.It builds bridges between artworks and audiences, making art accessible to all, in an inclusive, participatory and critical way. The word mediation refers to the idea of reconciliation, of dialogue between two entities: the photo, the work of art and the viewer's gaze. For us, it's a matter ofaccompanying this encounter,facilitating understanding without ever locking it into a single discourse. On the contrary, we advocate transparent, open mediation,in which every point of view is welcomed and valued. In so doing, we open up spaces for exchange, questioning, creation and research based on contemporary art. Our approach is based on the idea that art is a starting point for questioning the world,linking aesthetic experiences to everyday life, and nurturing critical reflection on our lifestyles. This plurality of views and experiences is at the heart of our mission. It fuels a transformation of individual and collective practicesand strengthens the links between individuals and their environment.

Concrete actions for a lively, inclusive mediation

Our mediation initiatives are aimed at a wide variety of audiences, with particular attention paid to those who are far removed from art or in socially vulnerable situations:

• School groups : (primary, middle and high schools): guided tours, art workshops, themed tours.
• Projects with local teenagers : (in conjunction with Vallespir youth organizations).
• In situ or off-site workshops : (in schools, social centers, etc.).
• Interventions in EHPAD and structures for the elderly : adapted mediation, enhancement of memory and artistic sensitivity.
• Actions with unaccompanied migrant minors : artistic expression workshops, valorization of individual stories, reconstruction through creation.

Through these projects, Lumière d'Encre builds bridges between generations, cultures and life paths.Art becomes a common language, a means of expression and reconnection with oneself and others. Our actions contribute to a demanding cultural democratization,rooted in the local area, which makes every encounter an opportunity for discovery, freedom and transformation.
